Three Valley Gap
I recently stopped by Three Valley Gap, which sits on the eastern most edge of our riding, to see the heritage village and talk with the people who keep it running.
If you haven't been, it's worth the drive — a preserved ghost-town-style village along Three Valley Lake, with original buildings, a heritage hotel, and a piece of BC history you can actually walk through.
Spots like this matter for our region. They bring visitors through the Shuswap corridor, support local jobs, and keep our history alive for the next generation. But it's not without its challenges.
Like a lot of tourism operators here, they're dealing with real pressures: highway access and reliability, finding and keeping staff, the growing threat of wildfire, and rising insurance costs that make it harder to plan year to year.
It's a good reminder that our local tourism businesses aren't just scenery — they're small businesses navigating the same challenges as everyone else, and they deserve support to keep going.
