From a small music repair shop into the hands of some big names on the big stage, Riversong Guitars is making a name for themselves in the world of music with handmade custom guitars manufactured in Sicamous, B.C.
Humble Beginnings & Breakthrough Innovations
Founded by Mike Miltimore—who grew up fixing guitars in his family’s store, Lee’s Music, in Kamloops—Riversong began out of his experience with fixing instruments and seeing a variety of requests and needs. In 2012, Mike unlocked a game-changing design: a braceless guitar with a neck-through-body construction. The result? Guitars that resonated more, vibrated freely, and—most importantly—sounded incredible while remaining structurally solid. This launched the brand in a whole new direction, propelling them on a two decade journey of innovation and growth.

Award-Winning Quality
With this growth came recognition amongst artists and enthusiasts alike, with guitars making their way into the hands of artists like Eric Church. Then, in 2022, their P2P-GA model was awarded Acoustic Guitar of the Year beating out long time industry legends like Taylor, Yamaha, and Martin. Riversong was the first Canadian company to ever do it.
Their guitars combine smart manufacturing with master craftsmanship. With much of the wood they use for their guitars coming from B.C.
Craftsmanship Right in Sicamous
Fast forward to late 2024: Riversong guitars opened a new factory in Sicamous, BC, creating local jobs and anchoring its production in the community. This new facility tackles all aspects of their guitar design and building, resulting not only in a handmade masterpiece but a product that is officially deemed a product of Canada. This means no less 98% of what they build is sourced and made right here.

Why Riversong Guitars Matters
From a kid in a repair shop to a globally recognized guitar maker, Riversong Guitars stand for innovation, community, and Canadian craftsmanship. Their success shows that small-town vision and big ideas can truly make waves far beyond BC. Even with his sights set on bigger things and global shipping, Mike still finds time to serve the community of Sicamous on various boards (like the Sicamous Ferry Society) and give back in meaningful ways.
Entrepreneurs like Mike and business' like Riversong need to be protected!
