We Unify 2025

I invite you to join me, Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at the We Unify speaking event in Victoria, B.C. This an evening to encourage honest, courageous and necessary conversation around politics and the atmosphere in our nation. I'm honoured to be part of the We Unify 2025 Speaker series.

At a time when our democratic society feels more polarized than ever, this event is about something foundational that impacts us all. It is about the right to speak, to question, and to be heard.

We Unify is an independent, non-partisan volunteer organization that's committed to defending our fundamental liberties by fostering open dialogue and encouraging conversation.

WHY THIS MATTERS?

As an MLA and someone deeply invested in serving the public voice, I see free speech not simply as a privilege, but as the lifeblood of a thriving democracy. When we protect and celebrate the right to speak (even when we hear conflicting ideas that make us uncomfortable), we give ourselves a chance to listen, engage, and occasionally persuade. Without the protection of free speech we risk slipping into a culture of silence, suppression, and aggression where only certain viewpoints are allowed.

Our society is stronger when debate is robust, not restricted.

When varying voices can come together, we have the opportunity to build understanding, not division. That's why I am excited to be part of this conversation.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT AT THIS EVENT?

  • Real talk about cancel culture, censorship, and the pressures facing free expression.

  • Diverse perspectives from political leaders and journalists

  • A chance to weigh in, ask questions, and engage.

Attendance is by donation, and there's a virtual option for anyone who can not make it in person.

I invite you to join me at We Unify and let your voice be heard.

When we stand for open dialogue, we stand for each other.
